Lunch and Learn: Navigating the New Barriers, Unlocking College Access

Join us for a free will offering Lunch and Learn event designed to empower high school students and their families with valuable resources to navigate the college admissions process effectively. This engaging session will provide insights into how families can make informed decisions and access critical support for a successful college journey—all while enjoying a delicious meal!

During the Lunch and Learn, we’ll cover five key topics:

1. Financial Aid Awareness: Understand FAFSA, grants, and scholarships aimed at low-income students to maximize funding opportunities.

2. College Readiness Programs: Explore workshops, tutoring, and mentorships designed to enhance academic skills and college applications.

3. Community & School Resources: Discover local organizations and services that assist with college applications, financial literacy, and admissions guidance.

4. Exploring Affordable Options: Learn about cost-effective pathways, such as community colleges and state universities, tailored to diverse budgets.

5. Engagement & Advocacy: Find out how families can advocate for equitable access to education and stay informed about impactful policies.

This enriching experience is led by Mr. Shaddrick Stinson, Assistant Director, Collegiate Success, Univ of Akron, who is dedicated to fostering education within our community.
